The Southern Valley Tour is a half-day tour that explores the less-visited, but equally impressive, parts of the Sacred Valley. The tour starts by visiting the archeological site of Tipon, which was a center of irrigation and agriculture for the Incas. The site features impressive terracing, aqueducts, and fountains that demonstrate the advanced engineering skills of the Incas.
After Tipon, the tour continues to the small town of Pikillacta, which was a pre-Incan city of the Wari culture. The site features an impressive urban planning layout with large rectangular buildings and streets that showcase the Wari’s mastery of engineering.
The tour then heads to Andahuaylillas, a colonial town famous for its beautiful church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America.” The church features stunning frescoes and artwork that showcase the fusion of indigenous and Spanish cultures during the colonial period.

South Valley Tour in Cusco
Our tour begins with a prompt 8:00 a.m. pickup from your hotel. We’ll make our way to the Archaeological Place of Tipon and arrive at 8:40 a.m. This site was once a sacred place of water worship for the Incas. Today, you can still see the running water through the complex’s various channels and platforms. Your knowledgeable guide will provide all the necessary information.
At 10:20 a.m., we’ll head to Pikillaqta and explore the surrounding archaeological site. Afterwards, we’ll visit the 16th-century church in the charming small town of Huaro at 11:40 a.m.
Our last stop of the day is Andahuaylillas, known as the Sistine Chapel of America, which we’ll arrive at 12:40 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., we’ll begin our return trip to Cusco, and you’ll have the evening to enjoy after a satisfying tour. The tour covers Tipon Archeological Site, Pikillacta Archeological Site, Andahuayillas – The Sistine Chapel of America, and Huaro.
